How to Have Friends and a Social Life While on the Primal Diet
Our last Primal Diet Q&A was more of a support
Promoting optimal health through a diet of raw animal meats, fats, and dairy aligning with the wisdom of Nature, following the life's work of Aajonus Vonderplanitz.
Aajonus Vonderplanitz was a Renaissance man. He presented to the world, through his personal experience and research, a way of looking at health that turned the modern world on its head.
He drew his inspiration from the traditional lifestyles of the Eskimos, Masai, and Samburo and research from the 19th and 20st centuries by Antoine Bechamp, Vilhjalmur Stefansson, Dr. Francis Pottenger, Dr. Edward Howell, Dr. Weston A. Price, Gaston Naessens, Dr. George Mann, Eleanor McBean, Dr. Robert Mendolsohn, Udo Erasmus, Theodore A. Strecker, Judith A. DeCava, and others committed to understanding what really contributes to health and wellness.
He was often called the Upside Down Man, because modern medicine has confused us so much into thinking that these old traditional lifestyles are dangerous, while Aajonus held a firm conviction that following the laws of nature is not dangerous at all, but rather the key to health. The more we mimic nature, the healthier we will be. The more we expose ourselves and the planet to chemicals and unnatural ways of living, we open the door to disease.
Aajonus was an activist, helping to legalize Raw Milk in LA County, creating the Private Membership Association for farmers and consumers to acquire health giving products while the powers that be continue to pressure and prevent us from having access to real food.
He visited farms in person, evaluated their practices, created a list of Aajonus approved food sources that were truly raw and truly organic, and connected these farms to his clients.
Aajonus wrote two books We Want to Live and Recipe For Living Without Disease. He gave workshops and consulted with clients around the world from 1996 – 2013.
Aajonus was in the process of building a retreat center in Thailand, teaching his form of iridology, and training and certifying Primal Diet coaches before his unexpected death.
After his departure, there was a gaping hole in the Primal Diet community. Jim Elingson and few others sank hours and hours into transcribing Aajonus’ recorded workshops and continued to manage PrimalDiet.net, selling his books and making Aajonus’ resources available to the world. Jim was overwhelmed with the phone calls from Aajonus’ clients needing health coaching from the only person qualified and entrusted to serve them.
“I don’t know how many times, I wished Aajonus would come back just for a day to answer some of my burning questions.”
Now, a decade later, we have a cadre of Aajonus’ students who were his clients and friends who now have enough experience on the Primal Diet and Coaching others to answer these burning questions and bring Aajonus’ work back to life.
Also, a new generation of young people in their teens and twenties have discovered Aajonus’ work in their pursuit for overcoming chronic disease. These young people are passionate, and having been down many dead end, destructive roads with health advice, they are embracing the wisdom of the Primal Diet.
We are here to be a lighthouse for wayward Primal Dieters. Come to safe harbor.
